Clipboard GPS

The clipboard on a Promaster provides a great place to mount a GPS.

There are 4 holes in the face of the radio in the van.  A Double-Din Removal Tool is needed to remove the radio.  The tool is inserted into the radio face and clicks in place.

Then, the radio is pulled out from its location.  This must be done because the two screws that hold the clipboard in place are only accessible from the radio space in the dash.

You can see where the two screws are placed at the front edge of the dash.  Once removed, the clipboard lifts up and away from the two square holes that hold it in place in the back.

After the base of the GPS is attached to the clipboard, a hole is cut for the power/ traffic antenna cord.  That wire is routed down the dash to a power source.

A 12v accessory jack is spliced into the dash 12V jack… it will go on and off with the radio, etc.
